#25 closed defect (invalid)

Unconventional server setup issues

Reported by: ftputiluser Owned by: schwa
Priority: major Milestone: never
Component: Library Version:
Keywords: Cc:

Description

A data vendor's ingenious idea of security consists of anonymous access but no PWD permissions for the login directory. This causes issues logging in because it breaks everything.

Duct tape solution:

Not to sure how to fix it right now, wrapped the FTPHost.init pwd call with a try, catch for now.

Sorry, I missed your report, saw it only now.

Could you please be more specific about what "it breaks everything" means? ;-) For example, you could put the input/output of an interactive Python session, including a possible traceback, into a comment on this issue. (I recommend to enclose program output in ... so you don't have to escape characters which have a special meaning for Trac.)

I close this issue because it lacks information needed to fix anything in ftputil (see my previous comment).
